Petite Body Types
Want to look long and lean? Stay away from big ball gowns and go for a silhouette that skims your body. A slight drop waist can make your legs look short, so opt for a natural waist. A-line sweetheart dresses are key. A form-fitting fit-and-flare wedding gown gives the illusion of height. A sheath's continuous line stretches your frame.
A high-low hemline can make your legs look longer. The slight empire waist on a beaded gown helps elongate the body. Long, romantic (and vertical!) layers create the illusion of height.
A fit-and-flare won't drown petite types, unlike a fuller ball gown style. A glam fit-and-flare number not only adds a couple (imaginary) inches to your height, but helps whittle your waist.
