As a beauty blogger who's suffered from acne since I was ten years old, I've tried way more than my fair share of acne masks. And you know what? The best one I've tried is a homemade mask made with simple kitchen ingredients (and Aspirin).
Step One: Put two regular Aspirin into a small bowl and crush them up with a spoon. It's not a big deal if they aren't perfectly smooth when you're done, but it makes applying the mask easier.
Step Two: Pour two teaspoons of fresh squeezed lemon juice in the bowl, and let it mix with the Aspirin.
Step Three: Add two teaspoons of raw honey to the mix. If the consistency is chunky, warm it in the microwave first.
Step Four: Separate one egg, and add the egg white to the mask. Mix all the ingredients well.
Once you've prepared your magical mask, spread a thin, even layer over your face, paying special attention to where your acne is the worst. Don't forget your neck! Let the mask dry for 15 minutes, and if you did it right, you'll feel it start to tighten the way a peel-off mask does.
15 minutes are up? Good! Now all that's left is to take it off. So, if you are braver than I and have absolutely NO little hairs on your face, you can go ahead and peel it off! Or, use your hands to gently rinse the mask away with cold water, which is the easier way to go. Finally, pat on a bit of moisturizer with SPF, and you're good to go!
