Three Fun Halloween Makeup Ideas

Written By: Shannon Boyce

It's that time of year again...Halloween! Yes, it is the one day that you can dress up as anyone or anything you've ever wanted. Can't get enough of the new Britney Spears song? Stick on a blonde wig and unleash your inner pop star. Want to look fun and flirty? Put on an old-school cheerleader outfit! The possibilities are endless.

The best part about Halloween isn't the dressing up, though. It's how bold and creative you can be with your makeup! So, if you're ready to take your Halloween face to the next level, here are three fun Halloween makeup ideas to try.

The Pin Up Girl

For Halloween makeup that is super easy (and still super gorgeous!), there is nothing better than the pin up girl. To create this look, you'll need to focus on defined brows, bold cat-eye line and bright red lips. Start by going through your normal foundation routine. Then, it's time for the brows!

Using either a brow pencil or brow powder that is slightly darker than your natural hair colour, fill in your brows, making sure that the shape is bold and well defined. Use a liquid or gel liner to create that bold cat-eye line. Make sure that the liner is thick and over the top. The bigger, the better! Apply two coats of mascara and line your lower waterline with a white liner pencil.

Finish off this Halloween makeup look by wearing a bright red lipstick. Line your lips first to ensure the best precision possible. Remember - your pin up makeup will look perfect with outrageous bangs, curls, and high-waisted skirts!

The Vampire

What could be scarier than vampire makeup? this is one classic option that is always on trend. The best part about this costume idea, though, is that there are so many options! You may want to rock a really dramatic smokey black eye or even incorporate daring shades of red. The choice is up to you. Here are a few tips to perfect your vampire makeup look:

Your face makeup should be as light as possible (remember, you're supposed to be dead!), keep your brows light and neutral, and avoid wearing any blush or bronzer. The real focus of this Halloween makeup look needs to be your eyes and lips. So, sporting a rich deep shade of red on the lips will really bring out your vampy side. Don't forget the plastic fangs, if you're really going all out with your costume. As for the eyes, get as creative as possible. Lots of black and red will look best, so play around and see what you like best. With this Halloween makeup, you don't hae to be afraid to go dark!

The Kitty Cat

If you want to look sexy this Halloween, you can't beat dressing up like a kitty cat! When it comes to the makeup, you can go as simple or complicated as you like. For the bare necessities, fill in your brows, use liquid or gel liner to create dramatic cat-eye, apply a coat of mascara and some false lashes, and draw on some whiskers with a black liner pencil. Easy, right?

To really amp up this makeup look, you can also use eyeliner to colour the bottom part of your nose, add small dots around your face, or even use a red lipstick shade to incorporate a little colour. Be sure to finish off this flirty makeup look by using a highlighter on the cheeks and adding on a cat-ear headband...you are sure to look purr-fect!

Are you ready to look great from head-to-toe? Try out some of these fantastic makeup ideas. This Halloween, remember to get creative with your makeup - it's all part of the holiday fun!
