Summer nights get longer and shorts get longer, or so everyone says. But something most of us neglect is our hair.
The sun can cause our hair to become dry and brittle, and with that comes frizz!
But luckily, there are a few things we can do to protect our hair and I want to cut them down and let you in on them right now:
Keeping your hair moisturized with things like weekly hair masks and hot oil treatments, eating healthy and upping your intake of water will work wonders and is one of the best things you can do for your hair and your overall health.
Hats can be a great way to accessorize while keeping your hair out of the sun and safe. My suggestion: choose a wide brimmed hat or consider keeping your hair up in a bandana, pin up style.
A bandana is also a great while swimming, as it will help to keep your hair out of the water. Pool water is never good for our hair; it is debated often whether lake water can damage our hair as well.
Sweat can make our hair look flat and lifeless, so in order to keep our look flat-free, carry around some dry shampoo and simply spray in and hair brush out, whenever it starts looking flat and lifeless.
There are many products that state they have SPF protection, shampoos and conditioners as well as hair spray and gels. But, if you are feeling crafty you can mix together a low-oil sunscreen with a little water in a spray bottle and apply it to your hair. My suggestion: Carry a small spray bottle of this mixture and reapply every 3-4 hours.
